“Wood” you like more fiber in that?

Wooden Spoon Love

I love to get feedback from my readers.  It is great to know that people are enjoying my stories and recipes and trying out their own approaches with the recipe inspiration on my site.  It is even fun to know that my family is enjoying my blog and sharing stories about their experiences.

Recently my stepfather wrote to me to say that he loved my recipe for Raw Apple Sauce.  He had tried it out, it was easy, delicious and he was very excited to have this new recipe under his belt.

The interesting part is that a few days later I was talking to my mother and she said, she loved the Raw Apple Sauce that my stepfather had created…except for the little bits of wood mixed in.

I was confused and questioned her and she shared that apparently my stepfather was following my recipe so faithfully that when I instructed him to “scrape down the sides of the food processor” he didn’t turn off the blender first, and ended up blending his wooden spoon! Thankfully they threw the spoon away so that it will not be leaving wooden bits in any other meals…

So everyone.  Just a reminder, that you never want to stick anything in a blender or food processor while it is running…unless you want it pureed as well.

Do you have any funny stories like this?

Haha, that’s great. Just goes to show you, you have to be very careful in cooking directions. That makes me think of when people unfamiliar with cooking are confused by strange sounding cooking terms.
